FAR NEWS: Murtaza Hussain: Mass Media Inevitably Help Feed Hate Machine against Muslims
TEHRAN (FNA)- A Pakistani journalist living in the United States says the mass media are spreading hate speech and misinformation against the Muslims and feeding a “hate machine” targeted on them.
Murtaza Hussain tells Fars News Agency that Muslims in America are now subject to the same bigotry that the Latinos and Blacks had long suffered and endured.
Commenting on calls for the escalation of surveillance and scrutiny of the American Muslims in the public, he said, “It is unfortunate that Muslims are the latest targets of such rhetoric and policies, although Blacks and Latinos have long similarly been hounded by bigoted individuals and groups.”
“It feeds paranoia and marginalization among Muslims, as well as a sense of being under siege,” he added.
